From Port Royal Speedway
Port Royal, PA– (March 1, 2014) – There will be no March 8 practice session at Port Royal Speedway as the enduring winter weather has already pushed the oval past the point where it could facilitate the practice program.
The 2014 season opener at the track is slated for Saturday evening, March 15 at 6 pm but again, it would seem that the early season timetable for racing in the area including at Port Royal will be dictated by the winter weather clock.
Still, progress continues readying the oval for the 2014 season and the dawning of true spring.
A trio of March racing programs is on the schedule with races following the slated opener on the agenda for March 22 and again on March 29.
Last year the oval didn’t get its opener in the books until March 30.
Meanwhile, season seats and admission passes continue to be available.
There is no increase in price for season seats and passes for the 2014 season as all rates remain unchanged from last season.
A season reserve seat for all oval racing events including fairweek races but excluding the Oct. 25 World of Outlaws racing event in 2014 will again cost just $50.00. This pass reserves seats only and is not good for general admission to any events during the upcoming season.
New for 2014 is the declaration of the entire main aluminum grandstand as a SMOKE FREE environment.
Beginning with the 2014 season, NO SMOKING WILL BE PERMITTED ON THE MAIN GRANDSTAND at Port Royal Speedway. This policy is only for the main grandstand.
Smoking continues to be permitted in all other seating and viewing areas aside from the main aluminum grandstand.
The Family Seating area of the main grandstand will continue to be provided in Section C, where no alcohol or smoking has been permitted since 2011.
Patrons are urged to take note of this new MAIN GRANDSTAND NO SMOKING policy for 2014 when renewing or purchasing season-reserved seats for the next year.
General admission season passes are also available, again at a cost of just $300.00, which does include general admission to all fairweek races in 2014 as well as all October events.
In addition, season pit passes are being offered, again at a price of $400 each while reserved fan parking spots behind the grandstand are being offered again for $50.00. Please note that the parking passes will not be good for fairweek events.
