Fremont’s Shane Golobic is expected to pull double-duty when the Stockton Dirt Track kicks-off the year on Friday March 21 with Winged 360 Sprint Cars & BCRA Midgets. The talented & versatile driver claimed the Ocean Sprints presented by Taco Bravo championship in 2012 and is a multi-time A-main starter at the prestigious Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in Oklahoma.
Golobic last year had a very solid campaign that was highlighted by his first career World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series win at the Antioch Speedway in April. He’ll be one of the many drivers looking to take home the $3,000 top prize in the Winged 360 main event on March 21, which will be run under Civil War Series rules and use the Civil War format.
The Winged 360 Sprint Car Dash for the night features extra cash on the line, with it being backed by Panella Racing Engines and features a total of $1000 up for grabs, which will be broken up as follows: $500 to the winner, $300 to second place and $200 to third place.
The BCRA Midgets will also run a special Dash sponsored by Terry Tarditi of T&T Trucking in Lodi with $800 on the line, which will be broken up as follows: $250 to the winner, $150 to second and $100 to third through sixth in the rundown. The stipulation to be eligible for the T&T Trucking Dash is that to run it, the owner & driver must be a current BCRA Member. The top-6 fastest qualifiers will make up the dash and draw for starting spots. If a non-BCRA Member is among the top-six, then the next member up in the qualifying rundown will be awarded the spot.
The front gate on Friday March 21 will open at 5pm, with the first heat race scheduled to go off just after 7pm.
