Atlanta, GA – March 18, 2014 – The third annual “Toccoa Tangle” is set for Friday, March 28th and Saturday, March 29th at the historic Toccoa Speedway in Toccoa, Georgia. The huge racing event serves as the season opener for the unique 5/16 mile D-shaped northeast Georgia speedway. The “Toccoa Tangle” is co-headlined by three of the area’s most popular racing divisions, the 100+ mile per hour United Sprint Car Series Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters winged sprint cars, the popular Southeastern Limited Late Model Sportsman Series and the new Monster Mini Stock Series for Four Cylinder racers.
The two-night “Toccoa Tangle” features over 200 laps of main events in addition to qualifying races and is a true smorgasbord of speed. In addition to the three headliner divisions the event also features the www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series winged mini sprints and GM Performance Crate Late Models. Also on the action-packed weekend racing card are several of the speedway’s weekly stock car racing divisions including the Modified Street (Friday) Hobby (Saturday) Stock Four (Friday).
Drivers from at least six states are entered for the third annual spring event when the historic Toccoa Speedway roars into action for the 2014 season. Fans are sure to get their money’s worth with a full night of non-stop action both nights including a guarantee of plenty of thrills, chills and spills from the time the green flag flies for the USCS Outlaw sprint car dash until the checkered flag falls on the final main event of the evening EACH NIGHT.
Friday night’s racing card includes the United Sprint Car Series Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters winged sprint cars contesting a full racing program including their Hoosier Speed Dash featuring the top six cars from the previous main event plus qualifying heat races and main events. The www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series racing format is exactly the same as the USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour winged sprint cars. The Crate Late Models will time trial and run a main event and the Modified Street and Stock Four/Monster Mini Stocks four cylinder racers will compete in a full racing program including qualifying heat races and have main events for each division.
It will be a chance for the new Monster Mini Stock Association racers to tune for Saturday night’s weekend $1000 to win final with a $500 to win preliminary event.
On Saturday night the USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters winged Outlaw style sprint cars contest their Toccoa Tangle finale with another action-packed high speed program including the Hoosier Power Dash, qualifying heat races and 30-lap Championship main event. The Southeastern Late Model Sportsman Series will contests their entire racing program with $1500 on the line for the winner on Saturday night. The new Monster Mini Stock Association for four cylinder race cars is expected to bring a strong field of racers to the historic track. Their season opening event at Harris Speedway attracted a top field of 38 drivers for the event. Most of those drivers and some others are expected for their $1000 to win point’s race at Toccoa. Also on the racing card on the final night will be the www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series winged mini sprints with another full racing program including their Hoosier Speed Dash, qualifying heats and main event(s) and the track’s popular Hobby division contest a complete racing format and gets their chance to impress fans with their own door-to door racing action.
Gates open at 4:00pm on Friday, March 28th and racing kicks off at 7:30pm. On Saturday, March 29th Gates open at 3:00pm with racing action starting at 6:30pm.
