Tulsa, OK — (May 1, 2014) — With three races now in the record books for the Oil Capital Racing Series 13th season, we now release the season’s first edition of the “Manufactures Performance Rankings” featuring the point standings of the chassis and engine builder products that compete in the OCRS series. As in 2013, points will be awarded on a 5-4-3-2-1 point scale for the top five positions earned in the OCRS A-Feature events. The top manufacturer of a given category cards five points, second place gets four points, third-place gets three points and so on. Only the highest finishing product make in an OCRS A-Feature event is awarded manufacture or builder points.
For example, if brand-X Chassis has two or more cars that finish in the top five of an A-Feature race, only the highest finishing position is awarded points towards the standings. Here are the points standings as they stand after three events:
In the chassis manufacturers category, Maxim Chassis, on the strength of Whit Gastineau’s two wins to start the season and the win by Shane Sellers just last week, puts Maxim on top of the points chart with 15 markers. Holding second place is the F5 Twister chassis manufactured by Wayne Simmons (who is also crew chief for Danny Smith) with10 points. XXX Chassis has seven points with Eagle Motorsports carting four bean counters and A.R.T. Chassis rounds out the top points earners with three points.
In the engine builder’s category, Larry Allen Racing Engines leads the way with 11 points followed by Dyno Services of Oklahoma with 10. Brand Racing Engines has five points with Walker Engines tallying four chips and then there’s a logjam with three points between Boyd Racing Engines, Fode Engines, STK Racing Engines and Wornhor Engines. Jennings Engines also places in the MPR charts with two points. OCRS will continue to update these points as we progress with the 2014 racing season. MPR rankings can be viewed at www.ocrsracing.com each week.
OCRS is actively seeking sponsorship for the MPR rankings and their press release announcements. If you would be interested in working with the OCRS sprint car series, contact John Lemon at www.ocrsracing.pr@gmail.com or call John anytime at (918) 850-5341.
If 2014 resembles even half the competition that these manufacturers and builders produced in 2013, this will be another exciting field of competition within the OCRS series to witness throughout the racing season.
