Port Royal, PA — (May 10, 2014) — Heavy mid-afternoon thunderstorms and a forecast for extended showers into the evening have forced Port Royal Speedway to cancel its May 10 racing program. A new make up date for the postponed May 3 late model feature that was slated for May 10 will be announced in the near future. The speedway is shut down on May 17 but returns with a big holiday racing program on May 24 featuring the Fallen Heroes Champships for 410 sprints, late models and 305 sprints. It will be Pepsi Night at the track with hundreds of giveaways on May 24 and the night will also include a fireworks display to kick off the summer season.
The triple 25 lap Fallen Heroes Championships on May 24 will see the super sprints vie for $5,000 to win their 25-lap main that also pays $350 just to start while the late models will race for $2,000 to win their 25-lap feature and $200 to start. The 305 sprints will also race for more to win. Time trials will set the stage for 410 sprint and late model action on the night
