– Friday night at the Silver Dollar Speedway, Jonathan Allard and his Tri-C Motorsports team broke through and got their first win of the 2014 season.
“It was great to finally break through and grab a win for the team and Clyde and Marion Lamar,” Allard said.
Timing his Tri-C Manufacturing/K&N/ButlerBuilt backed entry in fifth fastest, Allard ran second in his heat, putting him in the night’s redraw.
Starting on the front row of the feature event, Allard fell back to the third spot at the start, as he worked the low side of the speedway.
Seeing Andy Forsberg pull alongside of him on the top of the track, Allard used a restart to try the top, and it worked out, as he forged his way into the lead in a hurry.
Out front, Allard was tough, as he had Mason Moore chasing him down, as he too opted to try the high side of the speedway.
Though Moore tried several times to get around Allard, he was too good on this night, and picked up the win.
Saturday night Allard and his team were back in action with the King of the West Series as they took over the Petaluma Speedway.
Timing in with a dismal 19th quick effort, Allard had his elbows up as he worked his way to a third place finish, putting him in the feature event, though he started in the ninth row.
On a track that made for a really exciting race, Allard was able to pick up several spots, as he marched his way forward to a 10th place finish at the stripe.
“I have to thank everyone who works on this thing for continuing to fight through some rough patches,” he said. “I made a mistake in time trials on Saturday, but we kept fighting and salvaged a Top-10 out of it.”
