– Taking in two nights of action in Ohio over the last week, James McFadden put on a pretty good passing clinic, as he charged from last in the B Main to score a ninth place finish in the A Main at Waynesfield on Wednesday night before taking the Back Row Challenge at the Fremont Speedway and finishing third on Saturday night.

“It was a really strong weekend for us,” McFadden said. “I hadn’t been in a 360ci in years, and we had some bad luck at Waynesfield and rebounded nicely, and at Fremont on Saturday night we had been so good there this year we opted to go to the back, and came all the way up to third.”

With no time trial on Wednesday night, a pill draw saw McFadden line his All Star Performance/Red Line Oil/Hoosier Tire backed entry up in the eighth spot, and McFadden worked his way up to a transfer spot, until a flat tire forced him to the pits, and into the B main.

Starting 12th in the B, the Australian driver was simply magnificent as he worked to the front and picked up the win to earn a spot in the feature event.

Lining up 17th in the feature event, McFadden continued to show speed, as he ripped around the Waynesfield Raceway Park, picking up positions at will, with his final tally being eight cars, as he finished in the ninth spot, and earned the evening’s Hard Charger Award.

With Knoxville’s Twin Feature night being rained out, the team opted to head to the Fremont Speedway on Saturday night, and McFadden continued to shine at the track he has yet to finish out of the Top-Five at in 2014.

Setting the standard in qualifications, McFadden timed in as the quick time qualifier, before going on to win the Dash from last.

He was then given the choice of taking the Big Bucks Back Row Challenge, putting him in the back row with his prize money being doubled up to second, or a $5,000 bonus to win, or he could take his position up front. McFadden felt up to the challenge and went to the tail end of the field.

McFadden did not disappoint, as he glided around the Fremont Speedway to near perfection, as he put on yet another display of passing cars, just as he did at Waynesfield.

Taking advantage of a few restarts, McFadden found himself up in the fourth spot at the race’s halfway point, as he chased after Chris Andrews for the third spot, with Andrews losing the handle with seven to go, giving the spot to McFadden, and setting up a restart with seven laps to go.

McFadden was all over Dean Jacobs and Jamie veal for the last seven laps, as the crowd rose to their feet, but at the end of the race, McFadden settled for third, finishing off his weekend with an astounding 45 cars passed in two nights of action between heat races, B Mains, Dashes, and A Main.

“I can’t say enough about this team, they work hard and give me a car that is an absolute pleasure to drive on a nightly basis,” he said. “We passed a ton of cars, and I was hoping we could win from last on Saturday but we were too free at the end, but we had to be free at the start of the night. I can’t thank our team enough and am really looking forward to this week.”
