Lubbock, TX — (July 11, 2014) — Jake Martens trip to the Texas panhandle has been good so far, topping the Smiley’s Racing Products ASCS Lone Star Region at the Lubbock Speedway.
A stark difference from April 25 when Martens ended up flipping his No. 48 at the Lubbock Speedway, the Fairview, Okla. driver grabbed the lead on Lap 5 from James Mosher after starting sixth.
Hunted by Harli White in the closing laps, Martens would not be denied. White ended up second with Patrick Stasa making the podium. Shawn Petersen and Kevin Ramey made up the top -five. Josh Baughman, John Carney II, Brandon Long, Brandon Black, and John Kelly completed the top-ten.
The Smiley’s Racing Products Lone Star Region heads to the Abilene Speedway on Saturday, July 12. For continued updates on the American Sprint Car Series, log onto http://www.ascsracing.com.
