Belleville, Kan., July 23— Six drivers who have visited victory at the Belleville High Banks head the list of entries for The 37th annual Belleville Midget Nationals on July 31-Aug. 2 at the high banked ½- mile dirt oval.
Thursday July 31 will see the USAC Honda National Midget Dirt Series run qualifications, preliminary races and a 25-lap midget feature race. The USAC Silver Crown Series will hold a practice session during the evening, in preparation for Friday Nights events.
“The Hustle on the High Banks” on Friday Night Aug. 1, will feature a 50-lap feature for the USAC Silver Crown Cars. The JayHusker Mini Sprint Series will compete on the track’s infield quarter-mile track.
Saturday Aug. 2 will feature dashes, and last chance races setting the field for the 40-lap midget feature. A check of $10,000 awaits the winner. The United Rebel Sprint Car Series again returns for the 3rd annual 305 Sprint Nationals.
Jerry Coons the only three-time Belleville Midget Nationals Champion is slated to run both divsions and also has four preliminary night victories. Other drivers doing duty include: Dave Darland (’99, ’02 Champion), Christopher Bell (2013 Champion),and Tracy Hines (2013 Hustle on the High Banks Champion).
Bobby East the 2004 Belleville champion continues his quest for a third straight USAC Silver Crown title, and will not compete in the midget portion of the event. Rico Abreu winner of last year’s Thursday preliminary feature completes the list of track feature winners.
General Admission tickets for all events are sold first-come first-served on race day at the ticket gate. Reserved seating tickets are available for the event. General admission available only if the event is not sold out, and available only on the day of the race at the track ticket office. Special children ticket pricing is being offered this year.
