Knoxville, IA — (Friday August 8th, 2014) – Danny Lasoski’s chances of winning the non-qualifiers feature on Saturday morning looked grim after engine issues during his heat race events. Lasoski, who had changed into street clothes at one point, quickly bounced back after his team made repairs to win the 20-lap feature event. Lasoski was involved in a fierce three car battle for the lead with Jack Dover and Steve Kinser, taking the lead from Dover on lap 11 and never looked back.
Dover took the lead at the start while Kinser and Jac Haudenschild raced for second for several laps back and forth before Kinser took the second position on lap two. Shortly after Dover and Kinser raced several laps side by side for the front spot, with Dover able to hold the position the stripe. As Dover and Kinser approached traffic Lasoski, who surged to fourth in the opening laps and then disposed Haudenschild for third, closed in to make it a three car race for the lead. Kinser ended up tapping the fence trying to keep pace and dropped back from the lead battle.
Kisner and Lasoski split a slower car racing three wide for second with Lasoski taking the spot. Shortly after Dover found himself boxed in off of turn four and Lasoski took advantage of it to take the lead on lap 12. From there Lasoski motored away for the victory. Dover held on for second while Haudenschild’s engine expired at the finish, but was able to hold on for third. Kinser and Seth Brahmer rounded out the top five.
