Fremont, OH — (November 7, 2014) — Fremont Speedway will honor the top 10 in points in the Fort Ball Pizza Palace 410 Sprints; Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprints; and AAA Ohio Auto Club Dirt Trucks at a gala banquet Saturday, Dec. 6 at the American Legion in Fremont. The Kistler Racing Products FAST (Fremont Attica Sprint Title) Championship Series will also hand out prize money to the top 10 in points as will the JLH General Contractor FAST 305 Sprint Championship Series.
Doors will open Dec. 6 at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the awards to follow. After the awards ceremony the band Steel Creek will entertain.
Tickets for the combined banquet are $20 each and must be purchased prior to the event. Tickets will be on sale at the Fremont Speedway office, 509 W. State Street, Fremont, on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets will also be available at the Kear’s Speed Shop Open House on Nov. 15. A check may also be sent to 280 N. St. Rt. 590, Fremont, Ohio 43420 and tickets will be mailed.
Race teams must be present to collect their point fund money.
Byron Reed claimed his second consecutive Fremont Speedway title, the fifth of his career at “The Track That Action Built.” Not only will Reed take home the $5,000 track check, but the $10,000 FAST championship, his second such title. Second through 10th in the 410 points were Brian Lay, Chris Andrews, Caleb Griffith, Brian Smith, DJ Foos, Stuart Brubaker, Travis Philo, Jody Keegan and Matt Merrill. Merrill will also be honored as the track’s rookie of the year.
Jordan Ryan claimed his first ever track title in the 305 sprints over Nate Dussel who claimed the 2014 FAST championship. Dustin Dinan was third in the track’s points followed by defending champion John Ivy, Bobby Clark, Steve Rando, Alvin Roepke, Jason Keckler, Kyle Capodice and Seth Schneider. Capodice will be honored as the division’s rookie of the year.
In the dirt trucks, Shawn Valenti earned his first ever Fremont championship. Second through 10th went to Matt Foos, Jeff Ward, Dustin Keegan, Art Ball, Dana Frey, Kent Brewer, Cory McCaughey, Brad Keckler and Keith Sorg. Brandon Leighton will be honored as the division’s rookie of the year.
In the Kistler Racing Products FAST Championship Series standings, beside champion Reed, the rest of the top 10 in points to share in the money and prizes were Chris Andrews, Caleb Griffith, Brian Lay, Dean Jacobs, Travis Philo, Stuart Brubaker, Duane Zablocki, Jody Keegan and Stuart Williams. Dain Naida will be honored as the FAST rookie of the year.
In the JLH General Contractor FAST 305 Sprint Championship Series, besides Dussel claiming his second straight title, the rest of the top 10 in points to share in money and prizes are John Ivy, Jordan Ryan, Steve Rando, Dustin Dinan, Alvin Roepke, Bobby Clark, Seth Schneider, Ricky Peterson and Jason Keckler. Capodice will be honored as the FAST rookie of the year.
Besides the race team awards, there will be several special awards presented during the banquet.
