Fremont, OH — (April 15, 2015) — The 2015 Fremont/Attica Sprint Title (F.A.S.T.) championship season will officially kick-off this Friday evening, April 17th at the Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio. The Kistler Racing Products F.A.S.T. ‘410’ Championship Series presented by KS Sales & Service and the JLH General Contractors F.A.S.T. ‘305’ Championship Series presented by Engine Pro will each ignite their 2015 campaigns on Friday evening at the Attica bullring; launching a new season of highly competitive open wheel racing in northwestern Ohio. Each series will sanction two events during the upcoming weekend, with F.A.S.T. action continuing on Saturday, April 18th at the Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio.
“Its been a busy off-season but we are ready to go” said F.A.S.T. series promoter, Rich Farmer, “We are more than excited to promote another season of F.A.S.T. action in our area…we have some of the most talented local ‘305’ and ‘410’ sprint car teams in the country and having something like F.A.S.T. to reward them is really special…we want to give our local teams an extra incentive to race with us weekly…hopefully the weather cooperates and we can get our opening weekend in the books trouble free.”
It was the ‘Steel City Outlaw’ Tim Shaffer earning the F.A.S.T. ‘410’ Championship Series opening night victory in 2014 at the Attica Raceway Park. The former Knoxville Nationals champion was a one-time winner with the F.A.S.T. series in 2014; along with Christopher Bell, Dean Jacobs, Cap Henry, Rob Chaney, Jamie Veal and Dale Blaney. Brian Lay, Chris Andrews, Craig Mintz, and Caleb Griffith were all two-time winners with the series last season, with no driver earning more than two victories. Despite not earning a win during F.A.S.T. competition, Byron Reed would go on to secure the 2015 series title worth $10,000.
John Ivy earned last year’s F.A.S.T. ‘305’ Championship Series opening night win at Attica Raceway Park after starting on the pole. Ivy was a one-time winner with the F.A.S.T. ‘305’ sprinters in 2014. Jimmy Colvin, Jason Keckler, T.J. Michael, Alvin Roepke, Bobby Clark and Paul Weaver were all winners during F.A.S.T. ‘305’ Championship Series competition in 2014. Nate Dussel, who has sinced moved into the ‘410’ ranks full-time for 2015, earned two F.A.S.T. ‘305’ victories in 2014, and the $2,000 championship.
There are currently 18 dates on the F.A.S.T. ‘410’ Championship Series schedule in 2015; stretching from mid-April until early August. The F.A.S.T. ‘305’ sprinters will headline 11 events in 2015, with an inaugural visit to the Waynesfield Raceway Park scheduled for Saturday, July 4th. The 2015 F.A.S.T. ‘410’ title will once again be worth $10,000 to the series champion. $2,000 will be awarded to the 2015 F.A.S.T. ‘305’ series champion.
