Toowoomba, AU — (May 12, 2015) — Toowoomba Speedway is proud to welcome Bennie Bishop on board as Operations and Events Manager, effective immediately.

Signing the versatile and multi-talented 42 year old is major shot in the arm that further reinforces the exciting future for the new era at Toowoomba Speedway with the new management and lease ownership structure.

The move comes hot on the heels of the major announcement recently that Toowoomba Speedway now becomes a ‘sister Speedway’ to Valvoline Raceway in Parramatta NSW and will work under the same marketing and management umbrella.

“It’s important that we bring into this era for Toowoomba Speedway a progressive and proactive management structure,” says Valvoline Raceway Managing Director Steven Green, “and we looked at the human resources available in Australian Speedway Bennie was a logical choice for many reasons.”
Bishop brings a fresh energy, a wealth of experience and an astute understanding of how to entertain fans of all ages in the motorsport industry.

“Our family relocated to my home state of Queensland just 18 months ago, after 9 years in Perth, which included the wonderful privilege of working at the Motorplex. Now to be offered a role at Toowoomba is a fantastic opportunity to be schooled in another level of motorsport administration, and to learn from whom I consider to be the industry leaders in speedway promotion and marketing on the east coast,” says Bishop.
Steven Green and Barry Waldron officially welcomed Bishop to the team today.
“We’re thrilled that Bennie has joined our Speedway family,” says Green, “When Wade was away in England back in March Bennie filled in for him, and the feedback from our team and supporters was extremely positive. My discussions with Bennie unearthed comparable philosophies on management style, I think he fits in perfectly with our team”.

Bishop will work hand in hand with the competitor, spectator, sponsorship and media community in Toowoomba on the ground level in a concerted effort to bring new levels of energy and entertainment to the sport and the Toowoomba Speedway venue.

“Aside from being one of the brightest announcers in Australia Bennie also has a great way of working with people and bringing out the best in one to one relationships,” Steve Green explains, “he’s worked on some of the biggest projects in Australian Speedway over the last few years including the Perth Motorplex, World Series Sprintcars, The Speedcar Pro Series, the National Super Sedan Series, ANDRA Championship Drag Racing and many other arenas. We’re excited to have him on board and we know that the fans in Toowoomba will quickly see what he brings to the table.”
