From Port Royal Speedway
Port Royal, PA — (June 20, 2015) — Due to the impending rainfall from tropical system “Bill,” Port Royal Speedway has cancelled its June 20 racing program featuring the UFO Late Models.
Calls from traveling late model and sprint car teams questioning the wisdom of attempting to race started coming in early Saturday morning and with rain already in southeast Pennsylvania by 10 am, oval officials determined it made the most sense in the interest of traveling fans and racers to halt the evening of activity.
Port Royal and UFO officials are working to determine a suitable make up date for the UFO event before the circuit returns for its final show of the year in the Renninger Memorial Juniata County Fair Opener on September 5.
In addition, oval officials and Moon Shine Camo, the event sponsor, will be announcing a make up date for the Moon Shine promotion next week.
The next event at Port Royal Speedway is next Saturday, June 27 at 7 pm when the Interstate Truck and Tractor Pullers Association sanctions a six division pull on the speedway frontstretch, featuring Pro Stock Semi Tractor Trailers, Lite Limited Turbo tractors, 11000 Hot Stock tractors, 4 x 4 Modified Trucks and street diesels.
The oval then hosts PA Speedweek for sprints along with super late models and xtreme stocks on July 4 at 7:30 pm.
