The fourth running of the Bob Reynolds Memorial once again lived up to its reputation of providing fans great racing, high car counts, and a night of fun to remember.  The Waynesfield Raceway Park grandstands were packed as open wheel drivers from around the world converged running for a large payday.  The fourth installment of the Bob Reynolds Memorial featured the K&L Ready Mix NRA Sprint Invaders, UMP Modifieds, and the first ever appearance of the F.A.S.T 305 sprint series.
The NRA Sprint Invaders headlined the event with 35 cars signing in, competing for just 20 starting spots.  Fan favorite JR Stewart and veteran Kyle Sauder led the stacked field to the opening green flag.  Kyle Sauder took the early lead into turn two shuffling Stewart back to second.  Stewart would find himself in a battle with “Mad” Max Stambaugh for second.  Stambaugh would take the spot with just seven laps in the books.  The sole Australian in the field, James McFadden, turned the jets on making a run on Stambaugh for second.  In one fluid motion, McFadden took second from Stambaugh with ten laps on the scoreboard.  Sauder continued to lead the race until he went too high on the cushion exiting turn two allowing McFadden to take the lead.  The attention turned to a battle for third between the B20 of Butch Schroeder and the 11 of Tim Allison.  The Allison-Schroeder battle would continue for laps until Schroeder finally cleared the spot.  The race went caution free running 40 laps in just under nine and a half minutes.  James McFadden came away with the victory.  Butch Schroeder came home in second with Mad Max holding on to finish third.  McFadden, who picked up $7500 on prize money, thanked his crew in Tim Hogan’s carpet and flooring victory lane.  McFadden commented on how much he liked Waynesfield and how excited he was to finally get a win at the one-third mile.  Shawn Dancer took home the hard charger award advancing seven spots.  Greg Dalman, who currently leads the SOD point standings, used a provisional to start 21st in the A-main.
The first appearance for the F.A.S.T 305 sprint cars was a good one with thirty cars making the road trip to the cornfields of Waynesfield, Ohio.  Steve Rando and Paul Weaver led the field of twenty to the opening green flag.  Rando jumped out to the early lead when cars were stopped when the 3J or Trey Jacobs tumbled end over end, down the banking in turn one.  Jacobs climbed out from behind the wheel under his own power.  Waynesfield’s new rolling restart was a huge benefit for Jamie Miller as he jumped into the second spot coming to the green flag.  With 19 laps left on the leader board, 16-year-old driver Tyler Street made a successful run for third.  Street was not done yet as he reeled in Miller for second.  Just as Street managed to close the gap, the 4 car began to fade back allowing Miller to breathe a sigh of relief.  The lead pack would hold steady giving Steve Rando the first ever F.A.S.T victory at Waynesfield.  Jamie Miller posted a second place finish with Tyler Street posting third.  An excited Steve Rando climbed out from behind the wheel to a sea of fans on their feet full of cheers.  Alvin Roepke picked up the hard charger award finished just outside the top ten.
