Tulsa, OK — (July 20, 2015) — The Southern Trailer Works ASCS Gulf South Region presented by Griffith Truck and Equipment will see a double header weekend at the Shady Oaks Speedway in Goliad, Texas with the Shady Oaks Classic set for Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25.
The result of Mother Nature, the season’s original date fell to rain, giving series director, Keith Johnson, and promoters the chance to create a new event for the Texas oval.
Looking to carry momentum into the weekend is Kevin Ramey. Posting a dozen top-five finishes, along with seven top-tens’ has put the driver of the No. 1a atop the point standings going into the Shady Oaks Speedway. While a 67 point buffer sounds nice, it can disappear in an instant as 2014 Gulf South Champion, Channin Tankersley, has rallied back to the runner-up spot after an inauspicious start to his 2015 season. With five championships to his credit, Ray Allen Kulhanek has also come back from a slow start to being only 74 points behind Ramey. Michael McNeil is fourth with Scottie McDonald making the top-five.
Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25 will see action at the Shady Oaks Speedway getting underway at 8:00 P.M. Tickets for the event can be purchased at https://shadyoaksclassic.yapsody.com/event/index/13230/the-shady-oaks-classic-ascs-sprint-cars#SHADYFAST or at the gate on the day of the race. Admission is $15 on Friday and $20 on Saturday. More information on the Shady Oaks Speedway can be found at http://www.shadyoakspeedway.com.
