KNOXVILLE, Iowa (Aug. 3, 2015) – Danny Lasoski led Big Game Motorsports to a sweep during the Road to Knoxville doubleheader last weekend at I-80 Speedway.

The Muddy sponsored team won both nights at the high-banked track in Greenwood, Neb., to increase their FVP National Sprint League championship advantage to 746 points just after the halfway mark of the season.

“It keeps rolling along,” Lasoski said. “We’ve got a great team that works hard. I can’t brag about them enough. They do a great job on the race car. It’s really gratifying. It was very, very exciting for us. Having Phil and Ryan Durst as the promoters of this race, it was very successful. They paid really good money and it was a fantastic show. It’s really nice to see sprint car racing growing like that.”

The doubleheader began last Thursday with Lasoski setting quick time during qualifying. He then advanced from fifth to second place during a heat race, which locked him into the feature redraw. A child from the stands pulled the No. 5 for Lasoski during the random redraw to line him up on the inside of the third row for the 25-lap main event.

“The motor is taking off real good and we got a really good start,” he said. “The guys left a lane and we stuck it pretty good. We found a spot that most guys couldn’t run. You couldn’t ask for our race car to be any better. (Jamie Veal) was setting a pretty good pace out front. Then he moved down where I was running. The closer I got to him the tighter I got. We had to move around a little bit to get around him.”

Lasoski took over the top spot on Lap 17 and he cruised to the team’s ninth win of the season.

Big Game Motorsports returned to I-80 Speedway on Friday and the results were similar. Lasoski established quick time during qualifying and finished fourth in a heat race to advance into the feature redraw. This time he got the No. 1 to garner the pole position for the $10,000-to-win main event.

“We had a young man draw a number and he got the one,” he said. “What an advantage that was. Any time you start in clean air you can control the pace.”

Lasoski did just that as he led all 30 laps of the main event to claim his sixth FVP National Sprint League victory of the year.

The weekend concluded on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway, where the Muddy backed team timed in second quickest during qualifying and charged from sixth to win a heat race. Lasoski started the main event on the inside of the third row following the redraw.

“When it was time for the A Main it seemed like with as much humidity was in the air the race track actually got quicker,” he said. “It never slowed up. The closer you got to a car the tighter you got. Track position was key.”

Lasoski picked up a position to finish fourth, which gives him a 332-point lead in the track championship standings with two races remaining.

Big Game Motorsports will return to competition on Sunday at Knoxville Raceway during the Capitani Classic before racing next Monday, Aug. 10, at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, for the Front Row Challenge with the FVP National Sprint League.
