Dupo, IL (August 3, 2015) After being so close a few times recently and having issues, Justin Henderson and his BDS Motorsports team finally picked up win number three in the 410 division this past Saturday night. With the 55th Annual FVP Knoxville Nationals coming up in less than two weeks, this win couldn’t have come at a better time as the team prepares to race against the best sprint car teams in the country. In addition to the 410 win, BDS Motorsports and Henderson also picked up another top five finish in the highly competitive 360 division. Overall, it was another great night at the race track for the entire BDS team.
For the seventh time this season, Justin and the BDS Motorsports team picked up the quick time award in the 360 division by laying down a lap of 16.171. As it always does, this put Justin starting sixth in heat race number one. After the short seven lap race, Justin moved forward to a fourth place finish and transferred directly to the 18-lap A-main event. Starting fifth, Justin held his position in the top five for the entire race and ended up with a fourth place finish. This marked the team’s 12th top five finish in 360 competition out of the 12 races that have been run.
In 410 action, Justin was only able to turn in a lap time of 15.726; good enough for an eighth place qualifying effort out of the 33 cars entered. Based on the inversion, Justin lined up the BDS Motorsports #1 fourth in heat race number two. After eight laps, Justin finished right where he started in fourth place. As a result of the re-draw, Justin started outside the front row for the 20-lap A-main. As the green flag waved, Justin jumped out to the early lead only to have the red flag fly for an upside down race car. On the second green flag attempt, pole sitter, Terry McCarl got the early jump but Justin was able to use his Parker power to move by him on the back stretch. From that time on, Henderson would build up a lead until getting slowed while approaching the tail of the field. Once clear, Justin again built up a good advantage over second place McCarl. Near the very end, McCarl was able to make a run at the BDS #1, but never able to make the pass; Justin and his Al Parker powered Eagle Chassis held on for the team’s third 410 win of the season.
The BDS Motorsports team will spend this week working hard in the shop preparing for the 25th Annual Arnold Motor Supply 360 Knoxville Nationals. Always a favorite to win this event, the team suffered engine trouble last year that took them out of contention. This year, the team hopes to continue with their streak of great runs in the 360 car. The Parker powered American Fab, Midwest Power Equipment #1 has been strong all season long making Justin and the BDS Motorsports team a fan favorite once again this year. Be sure to follow Facebook and Twitter for live updates and photo coverage of the 360 Nationals this week.
