Due to a second line of heavy thunderstorms that moved through Central Illinois, Macon Speedway was forced to pull the plug on the August 22 POWRi show. The event will be rescheduled and those holding tickets or wristbands will need to keep them for re-entry.
33 Lucas Oil POWRi Midgets and 33 Speedway Motors POWRi Micros were on the property as well as the Billingsley Towing Modifieds and the UMP Street Stocks. About an hour before hotlaps, a light rain shower moved through the area, dampening the track. Crews worked diligently on getting it race ready but a second line of heavy storms built up and rained on Macon Speedway’s parade.
Up next for Macon Speedway will be the rescheduled Herald & Review 100 for the UMP Late Models. The event will pay 5,000 to win and will be held this coming Wednesday, August 26. The Billingsley Towing Modifieds and UMP B-Mods are also on the card.
Also, don’t forget the Springfield Mile at the Illinois State Fair will be hot again tomorrow, as the ARCA Racing Series Presented By Menards comes to town. A star-studded field of 32 will be on hand for the SuperChevyStores.com100. The Sportsman Nationals feature is also on the card. Racing is set for 12 noon and full details on the show are available at www.trackenterprises.com.
