Dupo, IL (August 24, 2015) After a rainout on Thursday night, the BDS Motorsports team headed to Princeton Speedway in Princeton, Minnesota Friday to take on the regulars of the Upper Midwest Sprintcar Series for the Ethel Kouba Memorial. On a night that didn’t start well with Justin getting upside down in heat race action, the team stuck with it and picked up another 360 win, and Justin’s first UMSS victory. This should have been night two of four for the weekend, but ended up being night one of two after Mother Nature caused Thursday’s and Saturday’s shows to be rained out. On Sunday, the BDS Motorsports team headed to State Fair Speedway in Sedalia, Missouri for the ASCS High Roller Classic.
On Friday night, Justin and the BDS team made its first appearance of the season at Princeton Speedway in Princeton, Minnesota. In heat race action, Justin hit an inside tire and flipped the BDS Motorsports Eagle Chassis, doing significant damage to the wings and other pieces. Determined to get every passing point they could, Justin pushed back off and came back to a fourth place finish after starting sixth. Based on his points, he lined up on the pole of one of the qualifier events and was able to pick up the win. Using a combined total of points from heat race action and the qualifier, Justin lined up seventh in the $3,000 to win A-main event. It took only four laps for the American Fab, Eagle Power Equipment #1 to find its way to the front and Justin never looked back. This marked the fourth 360 win of the season for the BDS Motorsports team and the first outside the walls of Knoxville Raceway.
On Sunday night, the team headed to State Fair Speedway in Sedalia, Missouri for a high paying ASCS National 360 race, dubbed the High Roller Classic. In heat race action, Justin started fifth and finished fifth, landing him in the B-main. Starting fourth in the B-main, Justin quickly went to work and got out front to pick up the B-main win. After having to run the B, Justin lined up 17th in the A-main and was able to move forward for a 12th place finish in his first ASCS race of the season.
While Mother Nature ruined two of the four nights away from Knoxville that the team planned, it was still a good weekend for the team with the win and 12th place finishes. Up next will be the final night of racing at the Knoxville Raceway this Saturday, August 29th. The BDS Motorsports team has locked up the 360 Owner’s Championship standings and Justin and the team have all but clinched a second place finish in the 410 division Owner and Driver standings. If you haven’t been to Knoxville all season long, now is the time to get out and support Justin and the team as they wrap up the 2015 season there this weekend. After this weekend, the team will look at additional race schedules and determine its fall plans – stay tuned to Facebook and Twitter for schedule updates.
