Chico, CA — (March 20, 2016) — For the 54th consecutive season, the sights and sounds of dirt track auto racing will take place at the Silver Dollar Speedway. The first race of 2016 will take place this Friday night, March 25th, as the popular California sprint car Civil War Series will kick off the start of season. The wingless sprints will join the winged 360 sprint cars in a twin billing of exciting open wheel racing.
Not only should the first race of the season be well attended by cars and fans alike, the speedway will host their annual Easter Egg Hunt for the kids during one of the night’s intermission. The traditional egg hunt will have different designated areas with similar age groups to allow the youngest kids to still have a fair shot at getting a lot of eggs. It is also reported that the Easter Bunny will be making an appearance.
This Friday’s scheduled race will serve as the first point race of the year for the wingless sprints during the Chuck Patterson Dodge Friday night championship season.
