PORT ROYAL, Pa. – Tentative plans have just been finalized and announced for pay-per-view live streaming of the upcoming three-day Bob Weikert Memorial Sprint Car Spectacular at Port Royal Speedway on May 28, 29 and 30.
There of course will be no substitute for attending in person but the three-day Port Royal sprinting special in honor of Weikert will be hosted on www.dirtstation.com for those who just can’t attend.
The shows will be interspersed with vintage film and video clips of Port Royal action from days and years gone by as well as of event honoree, the late Bob Weikert as well as his famous No. 29 sprint cars.
Live streaming rates for the Saturday kickoff will be $20 as well as for the second round on Sunday while Monday’s show will be available for $15.
Racing on Saturday and Sunday begins at 7 pm with action starting at 5:30 on Monday.
Further details will be available at dirtstation.com nearer the event dates.
The three-day program for the 410 sprint cars will culminate on Monday afternoon when the Weikert Champion is crowned based on cumulative points accrued during the three-day event.
The weekend event is being run in honor of one of the greatest sprint car owners ever to be known across the nation and around the world, Mr. Bob Weikert of Fairfield.
The Weikert Memorial 410 sprints will compete in the now traditional Fallen Heroes Championship on Saturday, May 28 featuring a 30-lap main paying $5,000 to win and $400 to start.
Passing points awarded from qualifying events will be used to align the main event starting grid.
The super late models will race in a 25-lap Fallen Heroes Championship as well on May 28, paying $2,000 to win and $200 to start.
Action then swings to Sunday night, May 29 when the Weikert Memorial sprints spin off time trials to set heat grids before moving on to a 35-lap feature paying a whopping $10,000 to win and $500 just to start.
The URC Sprints will also be part of the Sunday program, competing in a 25-lap feature paying $2,000 to win and $200 to start.
Special bonuses of $200 each will be paid to the three highest finishing 358 sprint cars that race in the URC main event.
After Sunday, less than a day later, the whole weekend of sprint car mania culminates with an afternoon program for the Weikert Memorial sprints paying $5,000 to win in a 25-lap main.
And after the dust settles, the three-day Weikert Memorial Champion will be crowned and a five-position point fund worth nearly $9,000 will be paid out with the title holder himself going home with $3,000.
In the event of only two events being completed due to weather, a two-day point fund worth more than $6,000 will be distributed.
All three events have a posted $200 Hard Charger Award up for grabs with the Saturday and Sunday Hard Charger earning a guaranteed starting spot in the following days main event.
