Teaming back up with the F&F Racing team in 2016 has been good thus far for Mason Moore, as the Princeton, CA driver picked up his second win of the season at the Placerville Speedway and extended his commanding point lead.
“I really have to thank the family that drew the number two pill for me tonight, because with the way the track was it was beneficial to start up front,” Moore said.
Timing the Econo Lube and Tune/Geico Local Office/LRB Race Products No. x1 machine in third fastest before picking up the win during his heat race. With the two pill being drawn for him for his feature event starting position, Moore would line up on the outside of the front row alongside Sean Conde.
With the first five laps of the race being hampered by stoppages, Moore would not let if mess with his rhythm as he took the lead early, and kept the field at bay during a pair of restarts.
Out in front on the hooked up Placerville Speedway, Moore would spend most of the night with a sizeable lead as he carved his way through traffic on the high-banked ¼ mile speedway.
In the closing laps of the race, Moore would see his lead shrink up in traffic as Steven Tiner began tracking him down. Staying committed to the low side of the speedway, Moore remained calm, an finally cleared a lapped car that would essentially seal the win for him.
Friday night, Moore was with his Mason Moore Racing team for a night of racing action at the Silver Dollar Speedway. Timing the Coors Light/Econo Lube and Tune/Geico backed No. 22 machine in fifth fastest in time trials, Moore would finish fourth during his heat race.
Pulling the five pill, Moore would line the Moore Insurance Services/LRB Race Products/NAAKE backed No. 22 machine up in the third row for the 25 lap A main event.
Having a long night in the feature event, Moore just didn’t have a car that could get moving forward as he faded deeper in the Top-10 as the laps clicked off. Able to settle in, Moore would end his night with a ninth place finish.
“We struggled a little bit on Friday night in the feature, but we were still able to hang in the Top-10,” Moore said. “Saturday night was a really good night for our team, and it was great to get a win. Both of these teams are a blast to be a part of and I am looking forward to trying again this weekend again.”
Moore would like to thank Coors Light, Econo Lube and Tune, Geico Local Office, LRB Race Products, NAAKE Suspension, K&N, Selover Paint and Body, Lucas Oil, and Moore Insurance Services for their support.
ON TAP: Moore will be back in action on Friday night at the Silver Dollar Speedway aboard the MMR No. 22 and at the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night aboard the F&F Racing No. x1 as they battle with the Civil War Series.
