Alger, WA — (July 23, 2016) — Solwold Tunes Up for Summer Nationals with Win

7/23/16

Alger, WA – Jason Solwold has things firing on all cylinders in anticipation of next week’s Bob’s Burgers & Brew Summer Nationals. The Burlington, WA driver led the final 22 laps of the main event to score his second win in a row at Skagit Speedway on Saturday night. Joining him in victory lane were Kelsey Carpenter and Freddie Vela.

Solwold was nearly flawless in the main event for the 360 sprint cars. After starting third, Solwold passed race leader JJ HIckle on the bottom of turn three on lap three to take the lead for good. Jason used his veteran guile to navigate through traffic and secure the win in front of Hickle and Colton Heath. HIckle was the fastest qualifier, with Heath, Travis Jacobson and Trevor Cook winning the heats.

In the Sportsman Sprint division, Kelsey Carpenter pulled off the elusive clean sweep on the night. Kelsey was quick time, won his heat from fourth and led every lap of the main event with little challenge before taking the win in front of Steve Parker and Brett McGhie. James Bundy and Parker were the other heat winners.

Freddie Vela visited victory lane in the outlaw tuner division. In a highly entertaining contest, Vela held off strong challenges from second place finisher Brandon Berg and third place Matt Ploeg to pick up his first w of 2016. Vela and Clint Meins won the heats.
