Clauson’s increases NMDOTY points lead

Defending champion Bryan Clauson increased his points lead in the battle for the 2010 National Midget Driver of the Year Championship, Saturday Night. Clauson finished third in the USAC National/Western Midget Series event at Gropetti Automotive Thunderbowl Raceway won by Tracy Hines. Clauson now holds a seventy-two lead over Brad Loyet, with two-time NMDOTY Champion Brad Kuhn trailing Loyet by an additional twenty-five markers.

Alex Schutte of Redding, Calif. will lead the USAC Mopar Western Midgets into this Saturday night’s “ARP Fall Classic” National/Western showdown at the Ventura (Calif.) Raceway. Schutte finds himself 31 points ahead of former leader Cory Kruseman after finishing fourth in last Saturday night’s 30-lap “Pacific Coast Nationals” feature at the Gropetti Automotive Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif. World of Outlaws Wrap Up 2010 Season with Awards Banquet

The ultra competitive 2010 season came to a close for the World of Outlaws on Sunday night with the series annual Awards Banquet at The Great Wolf Lodge in Concord, North Carolina, with the largest point fund in short track racing handed out, as well over a half-a-million dollars in cash and prizes was awarded to the 15 drivers that followed the series full-time.

Brian Brown – Fast in Little Rock!

With 125 sprint cars in a tough field at the Short Track Nationals last weekend in Little Rock, Arkansas, Brian Brown and the FVP #21 team knew it would be tough to come out on top. Though the Grain Valley, Missouri driver’s goal of a win didn’t materialize, he did make the 20-car cut for the finale and found himself going in with a chance at a top five run.

MUSEUM TO HOST “SALUTE TO MIKE BROOKS” ON NOVEMBER 18th

The long-awaited “Salute to Mike Brooks” will take place on Thursday, November 18, as part of the National Sprint Car Museum’s “Sprint Car 101” Third Thursday Series. The free and open-to-the-public program will be held on the museum’s second floor and it will begin at 7 p.m. Mike Brooks was Knoxville Raceway’s 1980 track champion while piloting Harrold Annett’s immaculately-prepared The Mickow Corporation (TMC) number 12 sprint car.
