MUSEUM TO HOST “SALUTE TO MIKE BROOKS” ON NOVEMBER 18th

From Bob Baker

KNOXVILLE, IOWA (November 2, 2010) – The long-awaited “Salute to Mike Brooks” will take place on Thursday, November 18, as part of the National Sprint Car Museum’s “Sprint Car 101” Third Thursday Series. The free and open-to-the-public program will be held on the museum’s second floor and it will begin at 7 p.m. Mike Brooks was Knoxville Raceway’s 1980 track champion while piloting Harrold Annett’s immaculately-prepared The Mickow Corporation (TMC) number 12 sprint car.

According to museum executive director Bob Baker, “We at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum have gotten to know Mike Brooks over the past several years as he has served on our non-profit foundation’s board of directors with distinction. We are familiar with his trucking companies and his winged 360-cubic-inch sprint car and United States Auto Club (USAC) Silver Crown racing efforts in the 1990’s, but it will be fun to learn about his early years in the sport, including his successful partnership with trucking magnate and championship sprint car owner Harrold Annett. I know this final ‘Sprint Car 101’ program of the year will be both educational and entertaining.”
