Macedo Masters Traffic for First Devil’s Bowl Speedway Victory

Throughout his time in racing, Jason Johnson always viewed Devil’s Bowl Speedway as one of his favorite tracks. The Mesquite, TX oval is roughly five hours from Johnson’s hometown of Eunice, LA. The “Ragin’ Cajun” experienced plenty of success at the half mile including a World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car victory in 2017.

Revisiting the World of Outlaws’ Inaugural Devil’s Bowl Race

The year is 1978. It’s mid-March in Texas, and race season is blooming like the bluebonnets. Roughly 90 competitors representing 20 states have gathered in a town 20 minutes east of Dallas named Mesquite. Among the roster are some of the country’s greatest drivers. They’ve all made the journey to take on the Spring Nationals hosted by Devil’s Bowl Speedway. A 22-year-old from Tennessee is the defending event champion. His name is Sammy Swindell.

Brent Marks Hunts Down Pittman for Second Williams Grove National Open Triumph

Chalk up the 61st Champion Racing Oil National Open to the Pennsylvania Posse. Brent Marks is a native of Myerstown, PA, cut his teeth in the Sprint Car hotbed before embarking on a national schedule for a few seasons, and has refocused a majority of his racing on the region in recent years. On Saturday night at Williams Grove Speedway, Marks made his home state fans proud by topping the 2023 National Open for the Posse.

Heavy rain showers that appeared following the parade lap for the feature event put a damper on the opening night of the 61st Annual Champion Racing Oil Williams Grove National Open for the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series Friday night at Williams Grove Speedway, forcing officials to postpone that main event until the after the conclusion of Saturday night’s program.
