Unfavorable Forecast Forces Cancellation of All Star/IRA Triple-Header

With heavy rain already invading southern Wisconsin, mixed with an unfavorable weekend forecast, Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1, IRA Outlaw Sprint Series and track officials were left with no choice but to cancel upcoming events at Wilmot Raceway, Plymouth Dirt Track and Angell Park Speedway scheduled for Friday through Sunday, May 17-19.

Unseasonable weather continued to plague Central Illinois on Saturday, May 11, as high temperatures in the low 50’s and wet weather forced the cancellation of the first POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget visit of 2019 to Macon Speedway. Four other divisions were also on schedule.

Damion Gardner Wins USAC/CRA Feature at Bakersfield

Taking the lead from Troy Rutherford on lap five, “The Demon” Damion Gardner (Concord, CA) scored the $3,000 victory at Bakersfield Speedway. Racing Mark Alexander’s #4 Trench Shoring / All Coast Construction Spike, Gardner became the sixth different winner in as many races with the AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series. Damion’s 30-lap triumph was the eighty-first series win of his career as he was followed by Rutherford, fast qualifier Jake Swanson, “The Cadillac” Cody Williams, and Trent Carter.
