RMMRA Open Race Season at I-76 Speedway on May 8

Denver, CO. (May 2, 2010) – The Rocky Mountain Midget Racing Association (RMMRA) and Two-Time Champion and defending RMMRA Driver Champion Keith Rauch will open their season next Saturday night May 8 at I-76 Speedway in Ft. Morgan, Colorado.

This will marks the 71st season of the RMMRA, with a 13 race schedule. Along with visits to I-76 Speedway on the schedule, the RMMRA will visit the new 1/3 Mile dirt oval at Colorado Motorsports Park in Byers, Colorado east of Denver and El Paso County Fairground in Calhan, Colorado. The RMMRA will be co-sanctioning with POWRI at the 1st Annual Chad McDaniel Memorial race at Solomon Valley Raceway in Beloit, Kansas.

Drivers to look for to win the 2010 Driver Championship will be Three-Time Champion Tony Rossi and 2007 Champion Chris Sheil. Among other drivers that will be competing for the 2010 Driver Championship will be Kyle Rayburn (Pueblo, CO.), Justin Mallo (Cheyenne, WY.), Julee Jamison (Highland Ranch, CO.), Brian Postle (Keensburg, CO.), Greg Schaefer (Brighton, CO.), and Bob Harr (Arvada, CO.) along with others.

Competing for the 2010 RMMRA “Rookie of the Year” will be Cory Mallo (Cheyenne, WY.) and Cole Wood (Woodland Park, CO.).

“With the increase of the Purse and the reconstruction of the Points System given to the Drivers and Owners this year, this will be a very competitive season”, said RMMRA President Greg Schaefer.
