Reed and Brubaker “Rain” Supreme; FAST Night #22 Washed Out by Mother Nature

MAUMEE, OHIO (9-11-10)

With the skies opening up and rain washing out the final night of FAST competition in 2010, the Kistler Racing Products Fremont/Attica Sprint Title congratulates Byron Reed who will be crowned “FAST Champion” on October 23rd and the 2nd annual FAST awards banquet. Reed will be presented with the Kistler Cup trophy and a check for $10,000 for his efforts this season as he dominated local sprint car racing at Fremont Speedway and Attica Raceway Park. Reed won 4 of the 18 FAST races that were run in 2010 and finished consistently in the Top 5 throughout the season. He finished the season with 2,460 points and a margin of 143 points over 2nd place Mark Keegan. Reed also picked up two All Star wins this season when the series invaded Attica in the Spring and again during Ohio Speedweek. Reed finished 2nd during the All Stars final visit to Attica in 2010 on Labor Day weekend.

“We all want to congratulate Byron and the B&S Racing team on a fantastic season,” said Scott Porter of FAST. “They worked hard all season and had consistent finishes every weekend. Reed piloted a JEI Chassis and a Kistler Engine to 7 wins and a FAST Championship and will hoist the Kistler Cup at our banquet.”

Congrats also to the rest of the Top 10 in FAST points: Mark Keegan, Craig Mintz, Phil Gressman, Dean Jacobs, Bryan Sebetto, Kevin Lee, Todd Heller, Shawn Valenti (Cub Cadet Rookie of the Year), and Mike Linder.

The biggest disappointment of the rain canceling the final event was the FAST305 Championship race. Stuart Brubaker came into the night with a 1 point lead over DJ Foos. When the rain fell, nobody could have been happier and more relieved than Brubaker. However, the Top 7 in points had to be dejected as only 16 points separated Brubaker from 7th place. It was anyone’s championship to win, but it was not meant to be. Brubaker will be crowned the inaugural FAST305 Champion on October 23rd at the FAST banquet. Brubaker had one win in the 8 races that were run of the 10 race schedule. It was a heated battle all season long as the Top 10 drivers were all within striking distance. Brubaker will collect a check for $1000 courtesy of Kear’s Speed Shop and Cleveland Golf, a free Triple X Chassis, and a $500 gift certificate from All Pro Heads.

“Its too bad we didn’t get to see how this all played out,” said Chris Kettman of FAST. “The 305 series is ultra competetive and these guys put on a great show week after week. We’re happy to crown Brubaker as the inaugural Champ, but it would have been interesting to see how the points would have stacked up at the end of the night.”

Congrats to the rest of the Top 10 in FAST305 points: DJ Foos, Bobby Clark, Jimmy Colvin, Paul Weaver, Nate Dussel, Zack Kramer, John Ivy, Josh Muntz, and Paige Polyak.
