โ SEDALIA, Mo. (April 25) โ Lake Ozark Speedway is back and no one is more excited than Haley and Miranda Arnold.
The sprint car sisters from Sedalia, Mo., will be at the 1/3rd-mile oval for its season opener this Saturday.
โWe are very, very excited to go back and race that track,โ Haley said. โIโm a pretty big fan of that track. Itโs fun to race at and itโs a great facility.โ
The speedway has a special place for Haley, who claimed her first 360 heat race win there on June 5 of last season.
โThe track was pretty nice that night,โ she said. โWe just went out, had a clear head and raced.โ
In their last time at Lake Ozark Speedway โ Sept. 5 โ Haley and Miranda finished fourth and sixth, respectively, in the 305 feature. Despite running a limited schedule at the track, both also placed in the top 20 in the points.
โWe ran there quite a bit last year,โ Miranda said. โItโs a pretty fun track. A lot of guys run there. The track gets a big crowd of fans and the fans there are great. Iโm ready to go.โ
Additionally, the Arnolds will walk through the stands at some point on Saturday with their helmets to collect donations for injured photographer John Lee.
โJohn Lee is a great friend of ours and a great photographer,โ Haley said. โWeโre really gonna miss him at the track.โ
The Arnolds recently talked with Lee, whose right foot was severely hurt on April 16 at Central Missouri Speedway in Warrensburg, Mo. He can now walk with the assistance of a walker, but is unable to put any pressure on his foot.
โWe want to help John in any way possible and weโre excited to interact with the fans in supporting him through this tough time,โ Miranda said.
