Another Weekend, Another Rainout

From CDR

The Big Game Treestands #7 team took on I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan on Saturday as they looked to better their finishing position from the previous night at Attica Raceway Park where they crossed the checkered flags a close second.

As has been the case throughout most of the season thus far, Mother Nature was in the vicinity and the start of the race was delayed several hours. After the rain subsided and the track was worked into racing condition, hotlaps were run on the 1/2-mile oval that was still very soft. The track started developing large ruts as well as safety vehicles that were incapable of getting around the track so the tough decision was made to postpone the event.

The postponement date for the event at I-96 Speedway is Memorial Day, May 30th, a date that racing was originally scheduled at Delta Bowl Speedway but due to the rising flood waters in the Mississippi region that event was forced to cancel.

The World of Outlaws 2011 season has now had seven events delayed and aside from Attica on Friday and the make up Salina event on May 3rd, rain has had an effect on every event dating back to the beginning of April by either hurrying the program along or washed it out all together.

Through the 16 events that have been completed, Dollansky has posted victories at Silver Dollar Speedway and Salina Highbanks Speedway and compiled 10 top-ten finishes, including 7 in the top-five, and has a series-leading 93 laps led.

The lights now shine bright on The Dirt Track at Charlotte as SPEED channel will capture all the World of Outlaws action live on Friday, May 27th.
