Mason, MI – (August 19, 2011) – Tommy Fedewa achieved the perfect season on Friday by winning his seventh sprint car feature in a row at Spartan Speedway. Fedewa’s final victory of the regular season at Spartan was done in dominating fashion after opting to start at the tail end of the eight car inversion for the feature after drawing the pole position. Fedewa took the lead just past halfway and ran away to go undefeated during Spartan’s regular season sprint car races.

“This is really cool, I’ve never done that before,” said Fedewa about not losing a single feature all season. “I’ve had some winning streaks but none of them were like this. I have to thank my Dad, Sasy Grass Law Car, my crew, and my family for putting up with me.”

After Fedewa opted to start eighth Steve Smith and Kyle Feeney made up the front row for the 25-lap season finale. By the end of lap one defending champion Jim Heeney had the lead with Smith in tow as Feeney dropped back to third. Soon Feeney found himself under siege by Steve Irwin while Fedewa and Gary Sherman started picking their way through the field from row four.

Whie Heeney and Smith pulled away from the field Fedewa had cleared the pack to move into third with six laps complete. Coming off turn four Fedewa got under Smith for second on lap 11, and going into turn one on lap 12 moved past Heeney to take the lead.

From there Fedewa pulled away as Smith and Heeney continued to battle for second. The non-stop feature finished with Fedewa winning by a straightaway over Heeney, Smth, John Hotchkiss, and Feeney.

Fedewa and Sherman won the heat race events. At the start of the second heat race Gavin Hunyady and Curt Shumaker hit the wall in turn four. Both drivers emerged from their cars uninjured.
