Bechtelsville, PA — (February 7, 2013) — Adding even more excitement to the 2013 auto racing season at Grandview Speedway event organizer Bruce Rogers has announced that the Tri-State RaceSaver Series (TSRS) sprint cars will be featured in an action packed doubleheader along with the Sportsman stocks on Sunday, August 25th with a 7:30 p.m. starting time.
This will be a first time appearance for the TSRS sprints which use 305 cubic inch engines and seem perfectly suited for the one-third-mile, banked clay oval.
The TSRS sprinters are designed for the weekend racer that wants to be part of the excitement of sprint car racer without the high costs involved in other forms of sprint car racing.
“We think that we will be able to have at least 40 racers there for the TSRS event and perhaps as many as 50 entries,” said TSRS regional director Joe Grandinetti. “Our members are already planning to be there for this one. They are excited to be part of an event at Grandview Speedway.”
Defending TSRS champion Mike Haggenbottom (Levittown, PA) is expected to be part of the long list of entries along with Kyle Reinhart, Kyle Purks, Stefani and Erika Palmai, Chuck Palmucci, Bruce Kindberg and many others.
The TSRS sprints will offer a full slate of qualifying events topped off by a big 20-lap feature event.
The Sportsman stock cars, a regular attraction at Grandview Speedway, will also have a big turnout. With a Sunday night show there are no other tracks running that class of competition so it is expected there will be a large number of visitors coming to test their talents against the regulars.
Additional details will be announced in the near future.
Grandview Speedway management has also announced that the new Grandview Speedway Facebook page is now up and operating. The page will be handled by Tina Rogers and Tammy Auman. Fans and racers will be able to find late breaking news on the Facebook site at www.facebook.com/grandviewspeedwayinc and the track is also represented on Twitter at @Grandview speedway.
The Berks County oval is set to open with a free-to-the-public practice session, open to all divisions planning to race at Grandview, on Saturday, March 30th at noon.
Season tickets are available, covering all Saturday night events (April through September), for just $335 and included a reserved seat. Details are available at 610.754.7688.
