Competing in the open wheel triple header will be the Aumiller’s Insurance 410 sprints, the URC Sprints and the River Valley Builders PASS 305 sprint cars.

The United Racing Company sprint series part of the show will be a combined 360/358 sprint challenge event with cars from both classes competing together.

The URC appearance at Port Royal will be just the third in the long history of both the oval and the sanctioning body after the group made a return to Port Royal in 2012 for the first time in more than 40 years last August.

Maytown’s Ryan Wilson took the Port Royal URC win last year.

“The Jersey Jet,” JJ Grasso of Pedricktown, Nj., is the current URC series point leader.

The 305 sprints will be racing in their sixth show of the season at Port Royal where Logan Wagner currently leads oval points with three wins on the year at the track.

Other 305 winners this season have been Eric Parker and Jeff Miller Jr.

The Port Royal 410 sprints are approaching their season climax with the 159th annual Juniata County Fair races on the horizon that will end the point chase for the season title.

This week’s show will be one of just five point shows left to go this year.

Currently Blane Heimbach of Selinsgrove leads the points in his search for a first-ever oval title.

Heimbach has won four times at the track this year while his closest pursuer, defending titlist Chad Layton has taken three wins.

Hanover’s Logan Schuchart scored an impressive win on August 17 in the Keith Kauffman Farewell Tribute event, taking home $5,000 for his first career win at Port Royal in exciting fashion after a 10-lap duel with Layton.

Adult general admission for Open Wheel Madness this week is just $18 for the fantastic sprint car hat trick.

As always, students ages 12 – 18 will be admitted for just $5.

Gates will open at 5 pm.
