After getting upside down in a big way on the first lap, and suffering a flat tire late in the feature event, Jonathan Allard found away to be there at the end, as he scored a sixth place finish at the Thunderbowl on Saturday night.
“I have to thank my Williams Motorsports team for all of their hard work on Saturday,” Allard said. “I made a huge mistake early, but they bailed me out.”

With 28 cars on hand at the exciting Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, CA, Jonathan Allard started his night off by timing his machine in fifth fastest.
Lining up in the first heat in the middle of gusty winds and dust storm, Allard survived a near wreck in poor visibility, and brought him machine home fourth, and was able to sneak into the Dash.
Pulling the seven pill in the draw, Allard went on to finish sixth, putting his entry in the third row for the feature event.
When the race went green, Allard went into turn one, and like a few others, got into the wall, and flipped hard, and was forced to the work area.
The crew went to work and was able to get Allard back on the speedway, but the car was visibly beaten up and patched together.
Just making laps over the duration of the feature event, Allard was able to stay out of harms way as he rode inside the top-10 until the 20th lap, when he had a flat tire.
Heading back to the work area during another five-car pile up, Allard was able to bolt on some new rubber, and was able to restart nearly in his same spot, as he salvaged his night with a sixth place finish.
“I’m not too sure how we did it, but we will sure take the finish,” Allard said. “We crashed pretty hard the first lap, and barely avoided a couple of other big wrecks, and somehow rolled around and finished sixth.”
