The 5th Ohsweken Speedway feature win of Dain Naida’s career came in dramatic fashion. Naida traded the lead several times with young upstart Dane Lorenc, then held off a last-corner charge from Glenn Styres to win by just 0.095 seconds. The first 18 laps were completed under green flag conditions before Dave Dykstra’s stopped car brought out the race’s only caution flag and set up a 2 lap dash to the finish. Styres restarted 3rd behind Naida and Lorenc, and quickly moved into 2nd, but Naida staved off Styres’ slide job in turn 4 and took the win. Styres settled for 2nd, followed by Lorenc, 13th starter Jim Huppunen, and Keith Dempster. Styres added to his championship points lead, and is now ahead of Mitch Brown by 42.
