– Kicking his 2015 US season off over the weekend in Ocala, FL, Kerry Madsen and his Keneric Racing/American Racing team came out on fire, as Madsen swept the weekend event, picking up three feature event wins with the All Star Circuit of Champions.

“It is absolutely sensational to start like this,” Madsen said. “We come down here to Bubba Raceway Park to make sure everything is in order, but the last two years now, we have been really good here, and it is amazing to pick up three wins like that.”

Each win came with it’s own uniqueness, and Friday night’s opener was won in very dramatic fashion.

After timing his machine in fourth fastest, the St Marys, NSW driver would finish second in heat race action before finishing third in the dash.

Lining up third in the main event, Madsen would run the first few laps in the third spot, until a restart saw Tim Shaffer drop him back to fourth. With stoppages hampering the flow of the race, Madsen would begin his march to the lead at the halfway point, as he moved back into the third position.

Chasing after Danny Smith, Madsen would make several challenges for the second spot, before getting the position on the 27th lap, just before the final caution flag flew.

Lining up on the rear bumper of race leader, Aaron Reutzel, Madsen stalked Reutzel over the final laps, and as he took the white flag in the second position, Madsen put all four of his wheels above the cushion to take the lead exiting turn two, as he would come around to take the win.

“I went for a Hail Mary on the last lap, and it stuck,” Madsen said. “That was insane.”

Back in action on Friday night, Madsen had momentum on his side as he set the standard in time trials, before finishing second in both his heat race, and the dash.

Lining up on the front row of the 30-lap feature event along side Dale Blaney, Madsen would get the jump as the green lights flashed, and quickly broke away from the pack.

Setting a very torrid pace, Madsen found lapped traffic just a few laps into the feature event, and Dale Blaney was able to close up on him, and challenge for the lead, but Madsen was having nothing of it.

A couple of caution flags erased Madsen’s lead at times, but he was very strong on this night and would lead all 30-laps to score his second win in as many nights.

“Any time Dale Blaney is behind you there is no letting up,” he noted. “We had a very good car, and I can’t thank my guys and our sponsors enough for all of their support.”

Sunday night brought the end of Madsen’s opening weekend, but it brought another exciting race for Madsen fans.

Continuing to time in very well, Madsen would time the American Racing/Keneric Racing/EarthEX No. 29 in third fastest before scoring second in both his heat race and the dash.

Lining up alongside Tim Shaffer for the final feature event at the Bubba Raceway Park, Madsen again shot into the early lead, though he had his hands full, at times, with Chad Kemmenah as much of the race was ran in traffic.

With eight laps to go, and in very dense traffic, Kemmenah closed in on Madsen, and hounded him for the top spot, and eventually took the lead on the 24th lap.

Still in traffic, Madsen remained poised and confident, and returned the favor, as he reclaimed the lead on the 25th lap, and never looked back as he finished off his weekend sweep.

“Lapped traffic was tricky tonight (Sunday), and I just could not get through it like I could the first two nights,” Madsen said. “Fortunately these guys have given me a good car and with that comes a ton of confidence, and I was able to make it happen. I really need to thank American Racing Wheels for continuing to support us, the Gavranich family back in Australia, and all of our amazing partners.”

2015 BY THE NUMBERS- Starts-13, Wins-5, Top-5’s-10, Top 10’s-10

ON TAP: Madsen and his Keneric Racing team will now head to the Volusia Speedway Park for five nights of action starting with two more All Star races on the 11th and 12th, before the 2015 World of Outlaw season kicking off the 13-15th.
