January 4, 2016 – Holly, MI – Must See Racing today announced that the USAC Eastern Midgets will join the Must See Racing Sprint Series presented by Engine Pro (MSRSS) on four occasions in 2016.

The USAC Eastern Midget series is a sealed engine pavement midget series that competes predominately in the Carolinas. Alex Bowman, Jared Irvan, Christopher Bell, Chris Lamb, Nick Drake, and Jessica Bean are just a few of the more recognizable drivers who have competed with the series the past few seasons.

Butch Lamb, a car owner who fields cars in the series as well as assisting in many other areas of the series, expressed excitement when the announcement was made. “Everybody in the club is excited to race with Must See Racing” Lamb commented. “We usually race with stock car people. We’re open wheel guys and it’s like racing with our own. Everybody is really excited over this announcement”.

The USAC Eastern Midgets will join Must See Racing on April 15-16 for the second annual “Southern Showdown” at Anderson (SC) Motor Speedway and Hickory (NC) Motor Speedway. The two groups will join forces again at the same tracks October 8-9. This will give open wheel fans in the area a rare chance to see a Sprint Car and Midget double-header.

2014 Turkey Night Grand Prix winner and Kyle Busch Motorsports driver Christopher Bell brought national attention to the series when he picked up a victory at Caraway Speedway in October 2014.

The 2nd annual “Southern Showdown” will open the 2016 season for the MSRSS National schedule as well as the six-race American Sprint Cup. The USAC Eastern Midgets will open their 2016 campaign on April 1 at Wake County Speedway near Raleigh, NC.

A stout field of USAC Eastern Midget Series drivers is expected. Chris Lamb, Jessica Bean, Andrew Layser, Jake Nelke, Sam Hatfield, Matt Lundstrom, Nolan Allison, Kyle Craker, Scott Hunter, Calvin Carroll, Dillon Silverman, Carson Hocevar, Nikki Carroll, Jagger Parker, Mike Ward, George Kurtz, Nic Davidson, Eric Lewis, Jacob Borst, Famous Rhodes II, Ryan Krachun, Fletcher Wulff, Jeremy Frankoski, Keegan Walmer, Blaine Leydig, Jacob Stickle, Jacob Staten, Steven Hutchison, Ben Silliker, Kyle Resco, and Skylar Robinson are expected to compete in the “Southern Shootout” events.
