ASCS Red River Set For Humboldt Debut Before ASCS Warrior Matchup At Springfield

TULSA, Okla. (April 18, 2016) Going for two nights of racing this weekend, the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Red River Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products is set to kick off the weekend at the Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kan. on Friday, April 22 before returning to Springfield Raceway in Springfield, Mo. with the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region presented by Impact Signs, Awnings, and Wraps on Saturday, April 23.

Measuring in at a three-eighths of a mile in length, the Humboldt Speedway has garnered much acclaim over the past few years with events like the Battle at the Bullring with USRA Modifieds and the King of America featuring the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS). The debut event for the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Red River Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products, ASCS last graced the clay of the Kansas oval just as the regional tours were starting to take off with Jamie Passmore topping the field on April 24, 1998 over Glen Passmore and Mike Trent.
Chance Morton leads the driver standings going into the Humboldt Speedway with a minuscule two point edge over Brandon Hanks who picked up a $5,000 payday this past Sunday with the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region presented by Impact Signs, Awnings, and Wraps at the Missouri State Fair Speedway in Sedalia.
Defending series champion, Kade Morton, sits third only 17 points away from brother Chance with Mickey Walker and Kansas native, Jake Greider, completing the top-five in tour standings only 53 points from the lead.
Teaming with the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region presented by Impact Signs, Awnings, and Wraps on Saturday, April 23, the two ASCS tours will converge on the Springfield Raceway in Springfield, Mo. A regular stop on the ASCS Regional lineup since 2009. Brian McClelland won the Sooner Region’s inaugural visit on June 20, 2009. In seven visits, only two drivers have earned multiple wins with Brian McClelland and Jonathan Cornell each earning two wins.
Opening their 2016 season this past Sunday, Brandon Hank’s victory puts the Hanks Motorsports No. 84 in the early points lead with the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region presented by Impact Signs, Awnings, and Wraps going into Saturday’s Springfield showdown with Seth Bergman, Brian Brown, Kyle Bellm, and Bryan Clauson making up the series top-five in driver standings.
Friday, April 22 at the Humboldt Speedway will see gates opening at 6:00 P.M. with races getting underway at 8:00 P.M. (CT). The night’s card will also include USRA Modifieds, B-Mods, Stock Cars, Pure Stocks, and Sport Compacts. General Admission is $17 with kids 6-12 admitted for only $10. Saturday, April 23 at the Springfield Raceway will get underway at 6:00 P.M. (CT) and includes A-Mods, Midwest Mods, B-Mods, Legends, and Pure Stocks.
