During his tenure with the Tri-C Motorsports team the month of May has equated to wins for Jonathan Allard and that remained true on Friday night as the Chico, CA native picked up his first win of the year with his Tri-C Motorsports team in convincing fashion during the 9th Annual Bill Brownell Memorial.

“It feels really good to be back in victory lane,” Jonathan Allard said. “It has been a long few months, but I think we have the right guys in place to do some special things and I really thank them for all the work they have been doing.”

Timing the Tri-C Manufacturing/Walker Performance Filtration/ButlerBuilt backed No. 3c machine in fourth quickest during qualifying time trials, Allard would work from his second row starting spot in his heat race to pick up the win and earn a spot in the nightly redraw.

Pulling the three pill, Allard would line up in the second row for the 25-lap feature event. As the green flag waived, Allard found himself in the second spot as the field reached the flag stand, and using the middle of the track, he overtook Keith Bloom for the top spot as the leaders race through turns one and two.

Out in front Allard set sail as he drove a flawless race and went on to pick up his 68th career win at the track that he calls home.

Making the trip to Tulare, CA following the night of action at the Silver Dollar Speedway, Allard would time in ninth fastest during the Saturday night King of the West Race.

Finishing second in his heat race, Allard would find himself in the fifth row for the 30-lap feature event on a surface that offered drivers a little bit of everything making for a very challenging race.

Getting off to a very nice start, Allard would work his way forward as he would soon find himself up in the Top-Five as he battled with Bud Kaeding and DJ Netto at times.

As the race unfolded, Allard would continue to hold down a position in the Top-Five as he would feel pressure from a resurgent Kyle Hirst during the race’s final laps.

Falling back to sixth at one point, Allard would fight back around Hirst to retake the fifth spot, where he would go on to finish.

“I think we had a pretty good car in Tulare, on Saturday night but I really needed to win the heat race to put us in a better position,’ Allard said. “We are getting there, and we are starting to be competitive night in and night out. If we keep at it, I have no doubt we will be back up front in the mix each and every night.”

Allard would like to thank Tri-C Manufacturing, Walker Performance Filtration, ButlerBuilt, Amerikote, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Red Line Oil, KSE Racing Products, Weld Wheels, NGK Spark Plugs, FK Rod Ends, Hunt Magnetos, Longacre Products, RCM Design, Ti64, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, AL Driveline, and Hoosier Tire for their support.

2016 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-22, Wins-6, Top 5’s-11, Top 10’s-12.

ON TAP: Allard and the Tri-C Motorsports team will be in action again on Saturday night at the Stockton Dirt Track in Stockton, CA.
