(Perris, CA, June 28, 2016) Residents of the City of Perris will be admitted free to Perris Auto Speedway when the popular Riverside County racing facility celebrates Independence Day this Saturday, July 2nd, with a night of sprint car racing featuring the Budweiser Firecracker 30 and the “An American Salute”, a fireworks sky concert by Pyro Spectaculars by Souza production honoring our nation’s Birthday. The celebration is presented by the City of Perris. Spectator gates will open two hours earlier than normal at 3:00 PM and racing will start at 7:00. The fireworks extravaganza will take place around 9:00 PM.

The race portion of the show and spectacular fireworks display have become an annual Riverside County tradition at the popular track since it opened in 1996. Over the years, more than 100,000 fans have flocked to see the Independence Day festivities that include racing, fireworks and family fun. The night is known far and wide across Southern California.

“The July 4th race is one of our signature events,” promoter Don Kazarian smiled. “Over the years the race has gained a lot of prestige and it is one of the races drivers want to say they have won. It has a very big meaning as so many of the greats in Southern California have won on Independence day weekend dating to the days prior to Ascot.   It is a real notch on a driver’s holster to say you have won this one at The PAS.”

Kazarian went on to talk about the fireworks show.

“People all over Southern California are aware of our fireworks sky concerts,” he grinned. “It is not your normal fireworks show that you see in most places. The City of Perris goes all out to make sure it is spectacular. It is set to music that is played over our 60,000-watt digital sound system.   We get all of our regular sprint car fans, other fans who come once a year because they know how special it is and we get people from the city of Perris. As the city is the sponsor of the show, residents get in free.   That works out great as they come once for the holiday show and keep coming back because they get hooked on the great racing.”

Citizens of Perris can get in free on Saturday by showing their driver’s license with a Perris address or by showing a utility bill from the city along with their id at the ticket window.

The spectacular fireworks show is produced by Pyro Spectaculars by Souza productions with show design and choreography by Sam Bruggema and musical score by Mark Provost.

For early arriving fans, there will be an autograph session on the track, a live band and games where kids will team up with the drivers.   There will be a special vintage plane fly over at the National Anthem. Another crowd pleasing treat will be two iconic Southern California food chains, The Original Tommy’s Hamburgers and Pink’s Hot Dogs, in the house and on sale.

Drivers will join kids on the front straightaway before the races for some fun games. Please give photo credit to Doug Allen.

Adult reserved tickets are $30.00 and children’s (6-12 years old) reserved seats are $10.00. General admission is $25.00 for adults and $5.00 for kids. General admission is also available for $5.00 for active military members with proper id and teens 13-18 with their school id.   Children 5 and under get in for free. The event will not sell out and there will be plenty of tickets available for everyone at the ticket window on Saturday.
