Fannasy Wins at Susquehanna

From Brad Vores

Susquehanna, PA — (July 23, 2016) — Steve Fannasy added his name to the list of winners this season in Credit Connection Auto Sales Super Sportsman competition at Susquehanna Speedway.

The Dauphin, PA racer became the eighth different winner in ten Super Sportsman features this year after leading the second half of Saturday night’s 25-lap feature.

Fannasy and Justin Foster led the Sportsman field to the green as Foster grabbed early control of the event. Foster would lead the first 11 circuits before encountering trouble on the 12th lap when he hit the fourth turn wall to bring out a caution.

That turned the lead over to Fannasy, who then kept the field at bay over the final 13 laps to take his first win of the season aboard his own No. 11.

New Jersey racer Tom Wyckoff started fourth and finished in the runner-up spot ahead of sixth starting Chad Smith, 11th starting Scott Dellinger and fifth starting Rick Barr.

Chad Criswell crossed sixth after starting 14th with Tony Jackson seventh ahead of 16th starter Russ Mitten, Doug Dodson and Jay Fannasy.

Heats for the 28 Super Sportsman were won by Teddy Thomas, Steve Fannasy and Justin Foster.

Manchester’s Randy Christine, Jr. made it two straight wins in 358 Late Model action as he sped to the win in the 25 lap event.

Christine started third but led flag to flag and held on through five caution periods during the feature.

Following Christine under the checkers were Dave Latsha, 13th starter Chase Billet, 18th starting Randy Stoudt and 12th starting Troy Miller with Travis Mease, Sam Gallagher, Matt Murphy, Patrick McClane and Steve Billet rounding out the top 10 finishers.

Donnie Farlling, Gallagher and Latsha were heat race winners. Farlling turned the wheel of his late model over to Jake Jones for the feature event.

Travis McClelland took the lead on lap three of the ServiceMaster Clean Central PA Legends 20 lap feature and scored the feature win over Hayden Pascoe, Scott Houdeshell, Reed Salony and Rick Hartwig.

Salony and Mason Chaney won heats for the 18 car field.

Chris Anderson led all 15 laps of the non stop Road Warrior feature to become the fourth different winner in as many races. He was followed by Justin Wagaman, Travis Brown, Robbie Carroll and Jeff Skenosen.

Anderson and Carroll won heats for the 16 Road Warriors.
