Barger Wins USCS Feature at Deep South Speedway

Loxley, AL – May 17, 2019 – New York native, Justin Barger, who now hails from Cornelius, North Carolina won his career 2nd and 2019 season 1st USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters main event on Friday night at newly re-opened Deep South Speedway in Loxley, Alabama. Barger grabbed the lead by beating K&N Filtrs Po Position starter Mark Ruel, Jr. from Jacksonville, Florida in the drag race to the first turn on lp one. Barger became the 10th different winner in 17 USCS events that have been completed out of the 21 scheduled so far with four rainouts from a 65-race schedule.

Barger had to endure several red flag and caution situations to fend of the challenges of first Ruel, thn late in the rce young gun Joey Schmidt after re-starts. Schmidt who started fourth on the grid moved into the runner-up spot before the last caution period and challenged the leader until the final lap before crossing under the checkers n the runner-up spot.

Mark Ruel, Kr. crossed te line in the K&N Filters Podium Award third place followed by veteran sprint car driver and USCS Southern region points leader and two-time 2019 feature winner, Johnny Bridges from Cherryville, North Carolina in fourth place. The 2015 USCS Rookie of the Year, Nick Snyder from Marco Island, Florida rounded out the top five.

Eighth starting Jeff Oliver from Pendergrass, Georgia lead the next group in sixth place followed by USCS National points leader and 11-time series Champion, Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee in seventh place. The 2012 USCS Rookie of the Year, Jeff Willingham followed Gray finished in eighth place. Tony Agin from Fort Myers Florida who won the Brown and Miler Racing Solutions Second Heat finished ninth and Brandon Blendon from Biloxi, Mississippi completed the top ten drivers.

Preliminary action saw Nick Snyder win the USCS Hoosier Speed Dash comprised of the top six cars from the previous event’s main event. Terry Gray won the Engler Machine d Tool First Heat Race. Tony Agin then then raced to the win in the Brown and Miller Racing Solutions Second Heat Race. Johnny Bridges collected the Wilwood Disc Brakes Hard Charger Award for advancing the most positions in the main event.
