A third place finish in the opening round last Saturday night at Brisbane International Speedway in Queensland was judged as a great start to the 09/10 season Speedcar Super Series (SSS) for Team Fox Racing (TFR) and their driver Scott Glazebrook.
In what was their first outing together, TFR and Glazebrook were thrilled with the outcome for the night and feel that things can only improve from here on in.
“To finish on the podium in our first race meeting of the season is a great result,” explained Glazebrook. “There is still plenty of improvement to come from a driver and team perspective and that certainly gives you confidence for the future.”
Throughout the opening round of the SSS Glazebrook, aboard the NSW # 9 Esslinger powered Spike, was one of the fastest cars after he had qualified third in time trials and then backed it up with a third and a fourth place finish in the two heat races. Due to rain the dash was cancelled and Glazebrook was fourth highest on points and that was where he started the 30 lap feature race.
“I hadn’t been to Brisbane since 2002 and the track was nothing like I remembered it to be,” admitted Glazebrook. “To come out and set the third quickest lap in time trials was really positive and it gave us plenty of momentum for the remainder of the night.”
TFR and Glazebrook remain in Queensland for this weekend where they will contest the Queensland Title at Maryborough Speedway this Saturday night (October 31).
“I don’t know anything about the Maryborough Speedway track but I am looking forward to contesting the Queensland Title and seeing if we can challenge for the win,” concluded an upbeat Glazebrook.
TFR and Glazebrook would like to thank Showpiece Signs and Designs, The Pool Shop and Clemcorp Australia for all their support.
