Kansas City, Mo. –Dave Darland is among the latest enteries for the “Lucas Oil Bull Ring Midget Nationals Presented by Lucas Cattle Company” at Kansas City’s Kemper Arena on December 18-19.
Darland hopes to add the Kemper Arena to his growing list of indoor race victories. Darland, a USAC Triple Crown Champion will drive the Ebby Bergfield owned Spike/Ford-Esslinger#86. Darland during his career has captured indoor midget feature victories at the following indoor facilities: Tulsa (Okla.) Expo Raceway (twice), RCA Dome (Indianapolis, Ind.), and the Sandbox Arena @ Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond,Wis.).
Darland was sidelined an early race accident in Friday Nights feature at last year’s Kemper race, after being the top point earner, starting on the pole position. Darland failed to transfer to Saturday Nights feature from the B-Main. Other recent enteries include: Will Pierce, Richard Kreisel, Tony Jackson, Trevor Kobylarz, Donnie Trent, Jody Rosenboom and Austin Brown.
Last year, eighty-four midget teams from around the country participated in the two-day event. Early entries for the event include: Saturday Night winner Bryan Clauson, Friday Night winner Jerry Coons Jr., Danny Lasoski, Brad Loyet, and Brad Kuhn.
This year’s event will pay $5,000 to win on Friday night Dec. 18th and $10,000-to-win and $500 to start Saturday’s race on Dec. 19th, plus a $3,500 point fund for the top three point finishers for the two-races. Supporting classes will be the Modlites/Dwarf cars, 1200 Outlaw Lightning Winged Sprints, and QMA Quarter Midgets.
On December 11th-13th, The No Bull Small Car Nationals will include: twenty-three classes of go karts, and various micro sprint divisions.
