OAKS, PA– Drag racing fans will rejoice, especially Morgan Lucas fans. The popular National Hot Rod Association Top Fuel drag racing star will be part of the 25th anniversary celebration Motorsports 2010 Presented by StreetBlaze 100 Race Car & Trade show taking place Friday, January 22nd through Sunday, January 24th.
Lucas, driver of the GEICO/Lucas Oil dragster, is a three time winner in NHRA Top Fuel competition (Atlanta, Brainerd and Memphis) and two times a top qualifier, will chat with show attendees and sign autographs during two sessions of three day show taking place at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA.
The 26-year-old drag racing superstar who calls Upland, CA home just recently took part in a USO sponsored NHRA tour of the European Theater where he and other NHRA racers visited with members of the military.
Lucas, seventh place finisher in the final Top Fuel point standings, will offer an exciting opportunity for a show attendee as he will award a “Crew Chief for the Weekend” prize for the 41st Annual United Association NHRA SuperNationals being presented at Englishtown, NJ’s Raceway Park June 10th through June 13th, 2010 as part of the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series. The prize will be good for the winner and a guest. Imagine being part of one of the top drag racing teams in the business.
In addition Lucas Oil merchandise will be made available for lucky winners during the weekend.
The exact times that Morgan will sign autographs on Friday and Saturday of the three day show will be announced shortly.
More than 220,000 square feet of nothing but racing is what is being offered at Motorsports 2010 with parts supplier displaying the latest equipment, chassis manufacturers offer their latest creations, speedways announce their plans for the new season, collectible vendors offer some great bargains and the list goes on.
There will be more than 200 racing vehicles, representing just about all types of competition, will be on display.
Fans will have the opportunity to collect autographs from a variety of top name drivers including NASCAR Sprint Cup stars Kasey Kahne and Marcos Ambrose along with NASCAR legend Bobby Allison. Many other national, regional and local motorsports stars will be on hand.
Sure to attract attention is the Langhorne Speedway Reunion. It was considered one of the toughest dirt tracks in the nation for years before it closed in the seventies. Drivers such as A.J. Foyt, Mario Andretti and a host of others were seen in action at the historic racing plant. Fans will be able to relive the great memories with a special display area featuring cars that were in competition. Drivers who competed at Langhorne will be on hand to sign autographs.
Always a popular attraction is the annual Ms. Motorsports Pageant being sponsored by BPG Racing. A number of lovely ladies will via for cash and prizes in the pageant that takes place on Saturday (Jan. 23), 7 PM and always draws a huge crowd.
