Popular Kansas late model driver Rick Beebe is a late entry for the “Lucas Oil Bull Ring Midget Nationals Presented by Lucas Cattle Company” at Kansas City’s Kemper Arena on December 18-19.
“The Rocketman” hails from Merriam, Kan. and is a veteran of over 150 career starts with the American Speed Association Late Model Series. Beebe has also made numerous starts in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and Camping World Truck Series. Beebe will drive the Corey Tucker owned Spike/Ford-Esslinger#39x, as a teammate to Bryan Clauson.
Clauson captured the Saturday Night event at the Kemper Arena, last year and also scored major victories in the Belleville
Midget Nationals and Turkey Night Grand Prix on his way to claiming the National Midget Driver of the Year honors. Clauson’s 2009 midget feature victory mark totaled eleven.
Last year, eighty-four midget teams from around the country participated in the two-day event. Other notable entries for the event include: last year’s Friday feature winner Jerry Coons Jr., Brad Kuhn, Brad Loyet, Dave Darland, Danny Lasoski, Levi Jones, and Davey Ray.
This year’s event will pay $5,000 to win on Friday night Dec. 18th and $10,000-to-win and $500 to start Saturday’s race on Dec. 19th, plus a $3,500 point fund for the top three point finishers for the two-races. Supporting classes will be the Modlites/Dwarf cars, 1200 Outlaw Lightning Winged Sprints, and QMA Quarter Midgets.
