Millstadt, IL – The 2010 O’Reilly POWRi presented by Lucas Oil National Midget calendar has 31 events on its schedule with more dates to be announced. There are 12 tracks in 5 different states slated with 2 new venues which include Shepp’s Speedway in Alexander, IL and Solomon Valley Raceway in Beloit, KS. The latter of the two will host the inaugural Chad McDaniel Memorial on Friday June 4th and Saturday June 5th. This will be a co-sanction event with the Rocky Mountain Midget organization and will also include the 600cc Outlaw Micro Sprints with five different organizations included in that division.
The season kicks off once again at the Southern Illinois Center in Duquoin, IL on Sat. March 27th and ends on Sat. October 9th at Belle-Clair Speedway. Belle-Clair Speedway once again will be the anchor track of POWRi with 6 midget events highlighted by a two day event celebrating 75 years of racing at the dirt bull-ring on June 24th and 25th.
Midget Money Week will also be a highlight on the schedule beginning at US 36 Raceway in Cameron, MO on Aug. 1st, Butler County Motorplex in Rising City, NE on Aug. 2nd and the Cornhusker Midget Challenge at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, NE on Aug. 3rd and 4th. Midget Money week will be hosted by POWRi with RMMRA and the SMRS/USAC series joining the event.
POWRi will join forces with USAC at three events this season beginning with a joint event at Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL on Friday April 30th. Tri-State Speedway will be the host of the Hut 100 at Haubstadt, IN bringing the two midget groups together for the famed event on Sat. May 8th. The Gold Crown Midget Nationals will cap the co-sanctioned events with three days of racing on Sept. 30th, Oct. 1st and 2nd for $15,000.00 to WIN and $1000.00 to start. The 600cc Outlaw Micro Schedule will be released later this week.
