The four day Easter break and the 2010 Qld Sprintcar Tri-City Shootout are now just over two weeks away and an impressive list of supporters have been secured for this landmark event to be held in Maryborough, Brisbane and Toowoomba, pushing the combined total prize money, pool money and contingency awards to over $70,000 for the three nights of racing!
Support has been garnered from a number of companies who are both directly and indirectly involved in the racing industry and also companies whose primary business interests cover a broad range of products and services in the retail and wholesale sectors. One of the main people involved in the negotiation processes to secure the support, Sprintcars Qld Committee member and Tri-City Shootout organiser Steve Thorley, is extremely happy with the level of enthusiasm for the Shootout concept.
“We learnt a lot from last year’s Easter events which were only two nights of racing in Brisbane and Toowoomba and started work early in putting together something substantial that we could then take to prospective supporters of this year’s Shootout.” Steve explained.
“With Maryborough Speedway coming on board and adding a third night of racing, the concept became even more exciting and a number of companies and racing identities recognised the great opportunity to be involved and were eager to do so. We believe we have a great event planned for this year, a great show in store for the fans and the success of the Shootout will see it become a fixture on the Qld calendar for many years to come.” he added.
Support is not just from national, state and local companies either, stretching all the way to the United States with the announcement that R&R Racewear and Kaeding Performance have signed on to be part of the three Qld Sprintcar Tri-City Shootout races.
Ausdeck Patios and Roofing, Temporary Fence Hire, East Coast Logistics and QuickTime Chassis will be the major partners for the 2010 Qld Sprintcar Tri-City Shootout, with each company’s involvement directly reflected in Tri-City Shootout Feature race naming rights.
Additional nightly support for the timed hot lap sessions and qualifying Heat races will be provided by Ace Fireworks, Angel Transport, Kratzmann Caravans, KRE Race Engines, Magna Flow, Roadway Logistics and Westco Fuso. Each night’s Dash event will be billed as the R&R Racewear Dash, with a commemorative plaque presented to the winner on behalf of the company immediately after the race.
Contingency Awards for the Shootout will be courtesy of BHR Fabrication, Kaeding Performance, Pro-Grip, Spanloc, Thermal Edge Coatings and Qld Speedway Spares, with a full list of the awards and winners being provided to fans and media organisations throughout the three nights of racing.
R&R Racewear, in addition to their support of the Dash events and in association with Racing Raymond, have finalised the design of the event t-shirts and these will be available for purchase at each of the three venues hosting the Shootout events.
The 2010 Qld Sprintcar Tri-City Shootout will kick off on Friday night April 2 at Maryborough Speedway, followed by night two at Brisbane International Speedway on Saturday April 3. The final night of racing will be held at Charlton Raceway in Toowoomba on Sunday night April 4 which will be followed by presentations to the overall Shootout Champion and placegetters.
